Shears (Germany, or Alsace Lorraine France?)
Martin Shears was born in 1790? and immigrated with his family arriving in New York. His wife's name? They had 3 children- Magdalena, Ursala, and little brother who died as a child. Magdalena made first communion by age 9 yrs, before leaving Europe. The Shears settled in Toledo, Ohio.
Magdalena weds George Williams(from Holland)they have possibly 10 children. Magdalena is born 1829,overseas.
Ursula weds Herman Joseph Meiring possibly 10 children too!
Ursula born 1840?
Some family members claim that Magdalena could only speak French. I have seen two photos one of Magdalena Williams, and one of her daughters, named Mary Williams. On the back on Magdalena's photo, was written Germany. This is all I know for now.
Hoping to find out if Martin Shears & family came from Lasace, or if Germany-what part? To find out the name of Martin Shears wife, Magdalena's mother. Plus did Martin Shears have any siblings, if so did they immigrate to America?
