"BYRD/BIRD" SHAW of ANDERSON, SC
Posted by: Patterson (ID *****0554) Date: April 27, 2009 at 18:15:01

Does anyone know where BYRD or BIRD SHAW is buried ? There lies another sub-mystery about "Byrd". He and his wife, Frances (a.k.a. Fannie) reportedly had 12 children living in 1900 when he listed himself as Harbert W. Shaw, and always listed himself with the initial "H". The respondent for the death certificate of James O. Shaw supported the given name for Byrd as being Harbert. Others listed him as "Byrd/Bird" and one even listed him as Howard. Now.... Tolbert W. Shaw is buried in Anderson County and he was married to Sara Frances. Are they the same men or was there a Harbert and a Tolbert Washington Shaw ? If so, they were born in the same month and year according to the 1900 census and the headstone. (Of course, Harbert Tucker was the father of Nancy who married William Shaw unless I'm mistaken.)

Also, was William Shaw, husband of Nancy Tucker, a brother of George Washington Campbell Shaw of Tennessee ? Both reportedly had a Samuel Shaw as their father.
