Sorry, Daryl, but my Shaws are descendants of Abraham Shaw who came to the Massachusetts Colony from Yorkshire ENG in 1635; one of his descendants came up to New Brunswick province where my father was born and my father came across the border to Easton ME in a wagon with his family in 1907.
If you have Shaws in MA, NB or ME they very well could be connected. Maybe some very distant cousin made it to CA but none that I know of. BTW, you are not the first person to ask because he had a Polly Shaw in his tree.
