Searching for the parents of William T. SHAW, born between 1825-1827 in TENNESSEE. As of 1850, he was a farmer, but 1870 shows his occupation as BLACKSMITH.

Married to Martha RIVERS (born about 1826 in ILLINOIS), probably before 1849, based on children:

1. William A. SHAW, born circa 1849 in MISSOURI; by 1880, he appears to have married to a woman, "Margret L." (probably should say Margaret", and moved to Boise City, Ada, IDAHO, where he was working as a Blacksmith.

2. Hannah SHAW, born circa 1851

3. Lucinda S. "Lucy" SHAW, b. May 05, 1852 in MO; in about 1869, she married Henry N. JACKSON (b. January 1837 in IL); they had 5 children, 2 of whom were still living in 1900:
~i. John W. JACKSON , b. May 1870 in MO
~ii. J. I. JACKSON , b. about 1876 in TEXAS
~iii. Mammie Pearl (also shown as Pearl M.) JACKSON, b. November 10, 1881 in TX, married soon after June 06, 1900 to James Oscar L. DAVIS; had 2 children (daughter Willie Inez DAVIS and son Harry Oscar DAVIS)

4. Armilda SHAW, born circa 1856 in MO (may not be a daughter)

5. Elizabeth SHAW, born circa 1861 in MO

6. Daniel SHAW, born circa 1863 in MO

7. Jessie (male)SHAW, born circa 1866 in IL

8. Alice SHAW, born circa 1869 in MO

The 1850 census of Cole, Missouri, shows William T. SHAW and wife Martha along with eldest child (then 1 year old) William A. SHAW. Also in the household is
Mary Ann SHAW, age 17, born in Tennessee; possibly William T. SHAW's sister.

#4 above, Armilda SHAW, first appears with the family in 1870, at age 14, and may be the daughter of William T. SHAW's brother.

The birthplace of #7 above, son Jessie SHAW, either indicates that the family briefly from Missouri to Illinois and back to Missouri again (between 1863 and 1869); that may have been how #3 Lucinda S. "Lucy" SHAW met and married (in about 1869) her husband who was born in IL. Alternatively, ,Jessie SHAW may also be the son of William T. SHAW's brother.

Does anyone know the parents of William T. SHAW?
