I found a Fannie Shaw living with her brother Wootson Shaw in Shelby Co. Texas on the 1900 Federal Census. Frances would have been 16 in 1900, and Fanny is listed as 16 in the census. My family (on many sides) is very strong in East Texas and Louisiana. Fanny and Wootson (I remember a great uncle Woot) were living as stepdaughter and stepson to a Mr. Philip DeFriend. Philip's wife was named Jennie, and their daughters were listed as Minnie and Theodocia. If this rings a bell with anyone, I would love to hear about it!
