Is Shaver/Shaber definitely a different family from Schaeffer?I think I've found both spellings in research. The marriage record I have is of Henrich Kunts [sic] (possibly also Koontz, Kuhns, Couns) married Susanna Schaeffer, 12 Nov 1783 in Frederick Co., MD; the marriage records also state that Henry was the son of Balsar Kuns of Rockingham Co., VA and Susanna was the daughter of George Schaeffer of Loudoun Co., VA.George Schaeffer's estate was settled in Loudoun Co., VA, 28 Nov 1822; it names children, Margaret MORGAN, Balsor, Christopher, Siegfried, David, Susanna, Mary, Eve, Jacob, John, Catherine. There was a road between Frederick Co., MD and Loudoun Co., VA, hence the presence of these people in both states and several counties.I believe that Henry Kuns and George Schaeffer were possibly born in PA.Is any of your research around these people and/or places?Henry and Susanna SCHAEFFER Koontz [sic] died in Nicholas Co., WV (VA before the Civil War).I'm interested in your book if it would help with research around these people. In Greenbrier Co., WV, there were also Peter Shaffer (m. Polly GEORGE 1824) and Christopher Shaffer. We haven't established a relationship so far, but that's why we're researching! Thanks.
