My grandmother's mother was Elizabeth L. Shaver, born abt. 1824. When my grandmother died, I found in her things lots and lots of papers concerning "The Sheffer Family Association", correspondence and pledge cards about an estate. A Mr. Charles Loeber with an office in Staunton, VA was handling the heir claims on this estate which was reported to be worth millions. The correspondence was around 1936 or so. Just curious if anyone knows what all this was about. There is information that goes way back to the 1700's listing the "simple beginning with Daniel Sheffer and his 15 children".
