The 3 sons of Theodorus SHAUT and wife Mary (John, George, and Jacob) each had children baptized (mostly) at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Minden, Montgomery co NY. Only one of them had a son John: Johannes G. SHAUT, b. 30 Aug 1806 and bp 5 Oct 1806, son of George SHAUT and wife Christina. George and Christina had 10 children total.
George was probably born ca 1767 (he was over 45 in 1820, Danube, Herkimer co census, and George and Jacob were younger), and died in late 1825. The baptism record of George and Christina's son, George, in May 1815 (b. 13 Jan) at Reformed Protestant Dutch church of Middletown (Minden) gives his parents as George SHAUT and Christina NELLIS.
On 12 Nov 1825, Christina Shaut petitioned for settlement of George's estate, as his widow. In subsequent land transfers by his children, in 1834 and 1835, John and Nancy Shaut sold part of George's land. Christina is still listed in the 1850 Danube census.
There is a marriage record of a John I Shaut to Nancy JOHNSON, at Stark, Herkimer co NY, on 21 May 1829. Then, like some of his cousins, John and Nancy moved to Steuben co. in the 1840s. He's listed in the Avoca 1850 census (age 35), in the 1855 state census (age 48, b. Herkimer co.), in 1860 (age 53, still Avoca), and in 1865 in Troupsburg twp.
John is probably the John SHAUT who died 1 Apr 1869, age 69 (63?) and is buried at Mallory Corners cemetery, Troupsburg.
Hope this helps some. Good luck, and happy researching!
