I am researching Michael Oshaughnessy who lived in Detroit. I found him in the 1850 census of Wayne County Detroit in 1850 living with Denis Dugan. In looking at death information at the Migenweb site I found four Shaughnessy folks who passed in Wayne County: Daniel, 1873, Flora, 1884, Lizzie, 1872 and Timothy in 1884. There seems to be two spellings: Oshaughnessy and Shaughnessy.

I am looking for Mary Shaugnessy who married John Madigan in Detroit in about 1860. I found them in the 1860 census in Detroit. I have John's death obit and it says he married Mary Shaugnessy.

Southfield Michigan is very close to Detroit. I have found many family members in Redmond and Southfield who ultimately worked in the tobacco building in Detroit and then the auto factories.
