hi
I have heard about sharrocks green but not sir richard de shorrock. All i know is that alot of sharrocks live in Rochadale. Evey I have spoken to in my life say that the sharrocks name is common there. Whiether they are come from there originally I do not know, but I know frommy reasearch is that the name means Shorr=bank, 0cks=oak/s. It odes not matter whiether the name has the "S" prefix at the end of it. It usually means the name has evolved over a period of time, throught various family branches, i.e Shorrocks, Sherrocks, Shoreocks, Sharrocks, Sharrock, Shorrock, Sharrock. Any body with some common sense see there is a pattern here. I hope my ideas help.
Oh if you check the records for Manchester Cathedral in Manchester Central library there is alot of Sharrock/s there. Also go to the local studies section there. That is were I found out about the surname.
