I think that your Cornelius was my great grandfather Albert Sharples' brother.
Their father was James Sharples who was born in 1815.He married Mary Howarth on 9th May 1835 @ Manchester Cathedral. They moved to Wolverhampton,Staffordshire and it is there where Albert was born in 1850 and Cornelius in about 1855.
On the 1881 census Cornelius and wife Sarah were living @ 7,Park St.Wolverhampton with 2 children and Cornelius' brother Robert.Your Alfred and Walter Henry are not mentioned because they wouldn't have been born by then.
I have more info - please e-mail me - or send reply via message board.
