Ava, I think that it is very likely that Harrison Sharp was a son of Richard and Frances Allen Sharp. Frances was the daughter of Benjamin Allen and Elizabeth Hill, as shown by a deed recorded in Cumberland County, in which Richard and Frances relinquished their rights to land inherited from Benjamin Allen, Jr., to Elizabeth Allen. Some researchers have identified Benjamin Allen as the son of Daniel Allen and Elizabeth Harrison; but Harrison Family researchers claim that it was Joseph Allen who married Elizabeth Harrison, the daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Priscilla Cary. In any event, it appears that Frances Allen was a descendant of the Harrisons through her father and it would have been logical for her to use the name for one of her children.
I am also a descendant of Benjamin Harrison and Priscilla Cary through another one of their daughters, Lockey, who married Thomas Word and whose grandaughter, Mary Alice McCraw, married my gggrandfather, Joseph Berry Sharp of Prince Edward County, VA. If you would like additional information on the Harrisons, suggest you look up Benjamin and Priscilla Harrison of Horn Quarter, Cumberland County, VA, on the Harrison Genealogy Forum.
