Last Will and Testamont of Thomas Sharp III written June 14, 1808 Berkeley Co, VA:
In the name of God amen, I Thomas Sharp of Berkeley County in the commonwealth of Virginia, being ill but of sound and disposing mind and memory desirous to settle my wordly affairs do make this my last will and testament. Imprimis, it is my will and desire that my body may be decently buried at the discretion of my executors, therein after named and after payment of funeral charges and debts, I devise and bequeath as follows. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Sharp and his heirs in fee simple, all the land I may dispose of except as hereafter mentioned, but if there should not be a sufficiency of personal property to discharge my debts and pay the legacies hereafter mentioned in that case, it is my will and I do hereby direct that the sawmill and my land on the North side of Mill Creek shall be rented and the monies arising to be applied to the discharge of said debts and legacies. Item. It is my will that my executors sell ninety five acres of land part of a tract I own adjoining Joseph Grantham;s and divide the same between my daughter Rebecca Cole and my son John Sharp. I also give my daughter Rebecca exclusive of her part of said ninety five acres the sum of three hundred dollars to be paid her by my executors within the space of two years after my decease. Item. I give and bequeath to my son John Sharp a pair of gold Glove buttons presented me by my friend James Quinn. I give unto my son Thomas Sharp all my wearing apparel and a silver spoon and to my daughter Rebecca I give a pair of silver buckels, a clock which belonged to her mother. Item. I give and bequeath unto my House Keeper Rachael Hare thirty dollars in lieu of twenty dollars I owe her. Lastly, I do hereby constitute, ordain and appoint my trusty friend William Grantham and my son Thomas Sharp Executors of this my last will and testament revoking and making null and void all others heretofore made by me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affirmed my seal this 11th day of June Ammo Domini 1808.
Signed Seald and Acknowledged by the foregoing Thomas Sharp in our presence as his last Will and Testament who at his request have hereto set our names. Teste.

Whereas I Thomas Sharp Senior of Berkeley County in the commonweath of Virginia have made and duly executed my last will and testament bearing date the 11th day of June 1808 which said will I do hereby ratify except as hereafter mentions and for the purpose of making some alteration in some parts therefore do thereby make this my codicil which I will and direct shall be taken and held as part of said Will in manner following: In consideration of my having paid for my son Thomas Sharp at different times sums of money, which monies added to the devices of land in my will aforesaid left him gives him a greater proportion of my property than justly ought to be his share in consideration of this I do hereby direct that my said son Thomas Sharp pay my said daughter Rebecca Cole mentioned in my will over and exclusive of the legacies therein left her the sum of forty four dollars which sum so to be paid, I take as in lieu of the part of the land devised my said son Thomas Sharp. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 14 day of June Ammo Domini 1808.
Signed, Sealed, published and devised by Thomas Sharp as afore a codicil to his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto.

This is Thomas Sharp, son of Thomas Sharp born about 1726 and grandson of Thomas Sharp who died in 1762 in Frederick Co, VA. Some of the land of Thomas Sharp (died in 1762)lay in what would become Berkeley Co, VA in 1772. The son of Thomas Sharp who died in 1808 was my direct ancestor Thomas Sharp who was born in Berkely Co, V/WV 2/6/1775, he is named in the will of 1808.
