If you found him in the 1930 census, you also should have found him in 1920, 1910, and 1900.
Gordon Merriman Sharp, b. 14 Apr 1886, in OH. Son of Peter Sharp (b Jun 1851 in Scot) and Anna Elizabeth (b Jul 1853 in OH). The family lived in Painesville, OH, where Peter was a shoemaker. Peter died between 1900 and 1910. Anna Elizabeth probably died 8 Jan 1936, in Cuyahoga Co., OH. (check death certif #926)
Peter arrived in the US in 1875. He and Anna were married ca. 1884.
Gordon married 1909-1910, and was living with wife Minnie
in Cleveland in 1910. He went to work as a machinist for the Yeoman Machine Co., located at Superior & E. 9th.
Alexander Duncan Sharp was born 17 Nov 1892 in Ohio. He lived with his mother until he was of age, then his mother lived with him. They were in Painesville at least until 1920 -- see Lake County deeds for the sale of 618 S. State St., which had been owned by Peter since before 1895, and occupied by his widow. By 1825, Alexander married Martha M. _________ and moved to East Cleveland, where Anna was living with them on Savannah Ave. An Alexander Sharp (shown as born 17 Oct 1892) died in Joliet, IL in Jun 1971 (SSN 286-05-7370)
