Three years ago my grandmother died, and when we cleaned out her apartment, we found a photocopy of a newspaper article, and several lineages of family trees. The article is titled "Sharon Family of Muddyford Once Lived in Pennsylvania; They Are Believed to Have Named A City There" I don't know what newspaper it's from, who wrote it, or when.
My great great grandfather is Ira Fisher Sharon, son of John Sharon (1796-1881)
I've been looking at other messages, and many of the names mentioned are on the tree I have in front of me.
I live in Pittsburgh, but my mother is originally from northern Kentucky, and prior to finding this article we had no idea of any of our ancestors. Because we live in PA now, when we heard that we were descendents of the people who settled and named Sharon, PA, we were really surprised. We've probably been to Sharon many times, without giving it any thought.
If anyone has any information about the Ira Fisher lineage, I'd be grateful to hear about it.
