Your Sharons were here long before mine. My gr-gr-grandfather, Edward Sharon came from Ireland in the early to mid 1800s and settled in VA (later became WV). I have seen some Sharons listed in Frederick Co., MD but I knew they were in the U.S. before my line and I never went any further with them. Joseph is a name used by my line, in fact it was my gr-grandfather's given name. He was the son of Irish born Edward Sharon. His brother James lived in MD for awhile in the area of Carroll Co., after the Civil War but that is the only early Sharon in my line that I know of who lived in MD.
