Hi Tony,
I found your forum and website while surfing the net. I read with great interest your search for connections from Devon England. I am in Ohio USA and my great-great-great(I think!) grandparents indeed migrated to USA from Devon (Apparently it was called Devonshire in the 1800's?) Devonshire is what is on their grave marker in a cemetery about 10 miles from my house. Many other Shapter's from this line are buried in this same cemetery.
I have some photos somewhere of the graves. I can retake pictures with a digital cam now if I need to. If you want to follow up any possible connection, let me know and I'll try tp gather some names/dates etc. My father may be of some help. BTW....Where are you located?
This could get interesting!
