Hi Paul,

Sorry this message is so late; hopefully you've had others tell you where to start looking for info. There's nothing like the internet to get information!

If not, a good place to start is always in the real world with your older family members, assumedly for you on your father's side. This would include your father and his siblings/cousins/parents. There is often a second cousin or some such distant relation who enjoys keeping up the family geneology books. Try contacting such people with a brief explanation of what you are looking for. I would not advise cold-calling Shantz's from the phone book due to the large number of Shantz's in this area and not all of them being Mennonite!

I myself know about 4-5 different Shantz lines in this area, if you do indeed need more info, perhaps I could ask some of them for you if they have any geneology books.
