I wish some male Shannon descendent of this family would join the Shannon DNA project to determine if the connection back to Nathaniel Shannon is valid or not. We now know that Nathanial Shannon of Ireland and New England was not related to the Thomas/Eigness line of VA or to the Thomas/Eleanor line of Wilkes county, GA. All three are ancient Shannon families but genetically distinct.
