Theresa Mikielwicz Shannon of Arlington Heights
Prayers for Theresa Mikielwicz Shannon will be said at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, proceeding to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at the funeral home. Born Aug. 4, 1916, in Milwaukee, she passed on to new life in Christ on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008. She was a longtime resident of Arlington Heights and faithful parishioner of St. James. Theresa is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and James Wohlgehagen of Dallas; daughter, Nancy Shannon of Seattle; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Peg Shannon of Lake in the Hills; and daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Shannon and Bennie Campbell of New Orleans. Theresa was a grandmother to 12; and a great-grandmother to 11. She will be fondly remembered and cherished for her generosity and strong will. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Anna; her brothers, Ray and Eddie; and her beloved cousin, Ann Wurl. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Leslie Robert Shannon; and her sons, Mark and James. "Special thanks and blessings to Kathy and Jim Wohlgehagen, Glenn and Peg Shannon and Autumn Journeys Hospice for the devoted and loving care they provided Mom with in the last years of her life."
