Mike,
Right now I don't have much more information than what I provided in my initial post. I just spoke to my father and he was able to provide the following information, which may not be very helpful.
1) The man who married Jennie Shanks most likely had the FIRST name of Yates, not the last. Jennie most likely was his second wife.
2) Jennie and Yates lived in Hannibal, MO in the 40's & 50's.
3) Agnes Shanks probably never married and was most likely born between 1886 and 1890.
I figure that Joseph Shanks would have been born no later than 1865 as Jennie, his first child, was born about 1883.
Like I said, not very helpful to you.
