Mustered in as Sergeant, advanced to 1st Sergeant 4/27/1862; Wounded 4/29/1863; hospitalized at Charlottesville VA with a gunshot wound right arm 10/23/1864 Furloughed 60 days for wounds 1/21/1865 (Source: North Carolina Troops: 1861 - 1865 A Roster, Compiled by Weymouth T. Jordon, Jr., Published by Division of Archives and History, Raleigh NC - 1975). Married Eliza Jones Allen (Jones is middle name, not maiden name).
