Here are three Shanahan/Stack connections from Fred Shanahan Shannon's research. There was a saying, "Where you find a Shanahan, you'll find a Stack; and where you find a Stack, you'll find a Shanahan."

1st Generation:
SHANAHAN, Daniel - original homestead Irabeg, Lixnaw, Co. Kerry; evicted for anti-British activities.

2nd Generation:
SHANAHAN, Thomas b.1739
m. 1764, Margaret STACK
resided Aulane, Abbeydorney, Co. Kerry
- they had 21 children
children listed: William b.ca 1770, Michael, Kathleen, John

3rd Generation:
SHANAHAN, William b.ca 1770
m.ca 1790, ? O'BRIEN
resided Farran, Abbeydorney, Co. Kerry
children listed:
William b.1810
John b.?, m.1839, Mary STACK to Ennismore, Ontario between 1840-1845
Patrick John b.1791, to Ennismore, Ontario 1825
Thomas m.Peg STACK, resided Abbeydorney, Co. Kerry
Dennis b.1792 to Ennismore, Ontario 1825
