what we know" great-grandfather : michael shanahan(born in haverhill, ma in 1860 - family from limerick area)
great-grandmother : johanna shanahan - maiden name mccarthy-mor born in london 1861. family from bantry bay. moved to americ at age 8 or 19. relative of dennis mccarthy from bantry bay. left ireland for london after waht is referred to as 'the trouble' to escape death.
