In his book, "Clarke County, Alabama and Its Surroundings", Reverend T. H. Ball, A. M.
states: Henry Shamburger and William Shamburger were two brothers of Dutch descent from North Carolina who were early settlers on James Creek. They had several sisters who married into prominent families. These families were well off and influential. They at length removed westward to a newer region."

Henry Shamburger wife was Rebecca. She is buried in Clarke County, AL. Part of this family moved to Lauderdale County, MS and then on to Texas. I have many Clarke County records and will be glad to share any info. Please email at ropger.simmons@gte.net
