Hello Karen: I sure hope we are on the same page with this one. I do know that Lydia was married to John Wheland. They had a son also named John M. He is my great grandfather and his age is correct. There are two Lydia Whelands. One was married to Peter. I am trying to find my ggrandfathers line. I have not been able to connect Peter and John but feel they probably are brothers but searching Peter I find no John. I need to look at the census again for one of them list Peter and his family just before Lydia. I have not found John Sr. on any records but one listing at the Tuscarawas County Genealogy Society when I was in Ohio last summer. Is the spelling Shaler or Shawler?
