DNA shows that my grandfather was a Shamblin descendant in the direct male line. We believe he was born in that region of West Virginia. I don't know how he connects to the Shamblins just that he does. He married into a Shafer family in Randolph Co., Missouri. The name Theodore does occur in my Shafer Line. These Shafers appear to have passed through Ohio sometime in the early 1840's and may have been in (West) Virginia prior to that.
