Dear Pam,I have found the following information about Clem and Laura Shaddix/Shadix.On the 1880 Talladega County, Alabama census,Clem is 5 months old, Parents, Thomas,44 and Polly Shadix,33. 1870 Clay County Alabama census, Clem is 11 years old, parents Thomas,56 and Mary,43 Shaddix.The 1880 Tallapoosa County Alabama shows Clem 19 years old, parents Thomas Shadix 67, Mary 52. In 1900 Clem is married to Laura and living in Leon County, Texas. Clem Shadix is 40 and Laura is 38, they have been married 18 years. Laura has had 10 children, only 6 are living. Clem's brother, Will D Shadix 35,is living with them. Children living with them in 1900 are Clark (William Robert Clark) 15, Zeb (Thomas Zeb) 12, Della (Cora Della) 8, Annie (Annie Laurie) 5, Elbert C (Elbert Calvin) 4, Frank L (Lacey Frank) 1. All the children were born in Texas.1910 Leon County Texas census, Clem Shadix,50, Laura 48,married 28 years, Laura has had 12 children, 8 living, 1920 census, Leon Texas, Clem Shadix is 60, Laura is 58,4 children still living with them, Elbert 22, Lacy 20, Clem D 19 and Jack 16.
