am a descendant of John SHACKLEFORD (b.Tenn.~ d. 1821 Ross Co.,Ohio) & Nancy <MASSIE?> (b. Tenn.) thru their son Lewis Shackleford (b. Sept 5,1817, Ross Co.Ohio~ d. Feb. 1904, Peculiar, Cass Co. MO.). The origins of this line has been my "Brick Wall" for many years. Almost 50 yrs ago (May 1956) THE SHACKELFORD CLAN MAG. tackled the subject of SHACKLEFORD's in Ross/Fayette Co. Ohio in the early 1800s, without alot of success (Mag.link at bottom.). Surely, 50 years later some SHACKLEFORD/SHACKELFORD researcher (more industrious than myself) with connection to this line has been able unravell the various lineages. Thru added census info. I have separated some of the lines thru where individuals claimed to be born & parents were born. I would also be greatly interested in Nancy MASSIE's relationship to Nathaniel MASSIE (early Ohio pioneer & largest property owner ~ d. 1813, Ross Co.Ohio) & how she came to be born in Tenn? Any SHACKLEFORD/SHACKELFORD researchers with updated info. on this line.... their input would be greatly appreciated. ALL THE BEST! ~ PAUL M.
