I recently found a coroner's report stating that Reynold SEYBOLD was MURDERED!! - three attempts were made on his life; the third time was successful; 7 inquests were held; no one has been charged.
How interesting! We had always been told he committed suicide...His death occurred on January 19 or 20, 1900...he died of strangulation...he was hanged in his garage (or so I've been told)...I'm currently chasing down more information.
This is his background:
Reynold SEYBOLD was born in Austria in 1851, later settling in Waterloo, NY, where he married Louise Augusta TUCH (1856, Germany-1940, NY). His father was John George Seybold (ca. 1830)of Austria. Last name is sometimes spelled Seybolt.
His daughter, Louise Sofa Seybold, married John PONTIUS in Waterloo, NY.
