Fort Seybert - It is in West Virginia. It was attacked by indians in 1758.The Captain of the fort was Captain Seybert (His first name may have been Jacob.).When the fort was attacked, most of the men were out hunting.Captain Seybert armed the remaining 45 inhabitants. The indians apparently seiged the fort for 3 days. The indian chief (Killbuck), offered to let everyone go if Captain Seybert opened the gates.Seybert, having no other option opened the gates.Seybert's 15 year old son - Nicholas, did not believe the indians, and took shot at the chief. He missed. The indians killed 20 of the 45 and took the rest prisoner. Both Seyberts were killed.
Through my research, I believe the Seyberts from the fort are related to the Henry Seybert - Rachel Trail line. The Seyberts from Seybertown, PA descend from a Henry Seybert, but this is a different Henry and from what I can tell, a completely different Seybert line.
