SEWELL, RAHNER, BOUNDS OF DEL
I am researching my husband's grandfather, Thomas Lee Sewell and his g-grandfather, Columbus Sewell.Columbus b. 1837 d.Sept. 1901 m. Tabitha Bounds b.1841 d.Jan.7, 1914. Do not know where they were born, died or buried,I think it was probably in the Del.,or N.J. area.Columbus and Tabitha had 6 children, Daniel, Annie, Laura,Thomas Lee, Mary Isabel (Mollie) and Eliza Ellen.Mollie married a Jack Connolly, Eliza Ellen married William Lyons, Jr.Thomas Lee b. April 1, 1864 d.Jan.7, 1915 (in Waco,TX) married Anna Rahner b.Jan 15, 1870, in Bischweis, Germany d.July 21, 1918 presumably in Waco.Thomas and Anna had three children, Herman Earl b.June 18, 1894 in Wilmingon, DEL.; Arthur Columbus b.July 28, 1897 in Wissahickon, PA and Gladys Tabitha, b.Aug. 11, 1900 in Edgemont ??.Sometime in her teen years, Gladys contracted TB and she, Thomas and Anna moved from Wilmington to Waco, TX for Gladys' health. On Jan 7,1915, while working from a scaffold at a new "power house or plant" in Waco, Thomas fell to his death.Apparently his wife Anna remained in Waco with Gladys.Anna died on July 21, 1918 and Gladys succumbed to tuberculosis on Jan 7, 1920 at the age of 19.I assume that Thomas and Anna were buried in Waco. (The two older boys had left home, Herman was in the Navy and Arthur was married and had a family in Memphis, TN) Since Gladys had no living members of her family in Waco, her body was shipped to her brother in Memphis and she is buried in a cemetery there.I have posted to several sites in McLennan Co.(Waco) TX but have had no responses.I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone one could give me on this "brick wall". The local Waco newspaper might have an article on Thomas' accident or perhaps obituaries on Thomas, Anna or Gladys. Thank you.
