Hi Jenn,

The previous reply was posted a little before I was done ....

I see that, in 1871, Thomas H. and Emily Sewell lived in Southwark with six children born between 1861 and 1870, including John St. A. Sewell, then nine months old. Thomas Henry Sewell, a horse collar maker, was b. ca, 1840 in Leeds, Yorks. He must have moved around some, as the children were born successively in the counties of Middlesex, Surrey, Suffolk, Yorkshire and Hertfordshire.

This census entry confirms my suspicion that Thomas Henry Sewell's family is out side the scope of my study, but it might give you a leg up on pursuing the line yourself.

Best wishes,

Eben W. Graves
Norwalk, Conn.
