Dee,

See my posts "Hannah wife of Moses Thurston of Andover, Mass. & Hollis, N.H." dated 1 May and 18 May 2005 on ancestry.com. I always knew that Thurston's wife was not Hannah from York and spent some time trying to tie Hannah to one of the ancient New England Sewall families. Only recently did I look at the evidence and conclude that Hannah wasn't even a Sewall.

All because it appeared in print, methinks. Is there more than one Thurson book? The edition of Brown Thurston's "Thurston Genealogies" that I looked at named Moses's wife Hannah Sewall but did not name her parents.

Please tell me more about the Sewall girl who married an Emerson. I can't find such a marriage in my data, though I do have a Sewall granddaughter, Mary Moody, who married the ancestor of poet Ralph Waldo Emerson and I have another Sewall man who married the widow of an Emerson. But I don't follow the Emerson family and I don't have enough to judge whether those Emersons are related to Moses Thurston's second wife.

With best wishes,

Eben
