Hi Eban,
Well I've gotten myself really confused by now. I got the Sewall spelling from Elizabeth Brady's obit. Elizabeth was Mary Brady Sewall's mother. But, in looking at the 1920 Census listing again..I see the name there is spelled Sewell. He is 61 and she is 45 and I'm guessing this may have been a 2nd marriage for both. I've also noticed that Hubert is sometimes actually Herbert but the hand writing makes it look like Hu..so I'm not really certain where I am, I guess. If Sewell is the correct spelling, I do find a Joseph Sewell in NY on the 1860 census and he has a son named Herbert...so that may be him. I notice on the message board that people refer to both..is this name spelled both ways in the same family or are they unique?
Thanks
Janet
