Janet, There are at least three possibilities for your newly found Sewall family in New York. 1. descendants of Henry Sewall of Newbury and Rowley, Mass. ((ca. 1576-1656) This is the family usually referred to as the Mass. or Maine Sewalls, as they appear to outnumber other Sewall families from the northeast. 2. descendants of Timothy Sewall of Boston, Lynn, and Mendon, Mass. (say 1690-1753). 3. immigrants from Canada, who may be different families altogether, descended from one of the two above, or descended possibly from Edward Sewall of Lynn, Mass., and Exeter, N.H. (say 1640-ca. 1683) The first two families are known to have branches in New York. I do not have any Sewalls or anyone from any other family named Hubert in my files - but that doesn't mean anything! There was even a Sewall family in Boulder, CO, in the late 1800s, but they did not, to my knowledge, have any children named Hubert - I don't have their grandchildren's names. How old were Hubert and his wife in 1910? Can you get death certificates? Best wishes, Eben Notify Administrator about this message?
