new technology

Today, I received an e mail from a friend regarding
new technology that reads formerly illegible words
on church headstones using medical type scans that
reveal carved patterns in the stone.
This being done by scientists at Carnegie Mellon
and the stone used for an example reads as follows:

Isabella, wife of John Seville b: 178-
Lownby(?) Eng.
D: 18--
This stone is located in Old St. Lukes church cem.
located near Pittsburgh.

I am not related to Seville fam. in any way, just
found this interesting and thought I would pass it
along.
Alice
