Sevigny's and OPMD
I'm trying to figure out where OPMD crept into my line (Julien Charles Sevigny Dit Lafleur m.Marguerite Dit LaRoche Rognon, Jean-Francois m. Croteau, Joseph m. Langlois, Louis Joseph m. Houde De Desrochers, Joseph Louis m. Rousseau, Prascede m. Huot, Arcade m. Guillmette).
OculoPharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy is a dominant genetic disorder found in many people of French Canadian descent. Symptoms include severe drooping of the eyelids and difficulty in swallowing.
My Grandfather had it, my Dad had it, and now I'm starting to experience symptoms.
Does anyone here have ancestors that had it?
I'm particularly interested in knowing whether the descendants of Prascede Sevigny m. Adelaide Carrier July 2, 1883 had it.
