Kathy,
Is the Jacob Severs that you are writing about the same one who married Esther Croberger or a different one?
I *speculate* that the Jacob who married Esther was a brother to the (John?) Seavers who was my husband's grgrgrgrgrandfather. They lived in Wythe Co, VA--not that far from Sullivan Co, TN.This John died about 1818, and Jacob & Esther moved to IN about 1820 (based on POBs of their children).John's widow may have moved to IN with Jacob & Esther's family, but his (John's) adult children stayed in Wythe, VA.
A Jacob bought and sold land in Sullivan Co. TN and Hawkins Co. TN--both of which border VA.Three of the sons of the John who died in 1818 moved to Hawkins Co, TN and there is aCroberger will in Hawkins which links the Jacob who married Esther Croberger to the area, too. However, someone recently told me that Jacob and Esther married in PA!Curiouser and curiouser.
So, what do you think?Do we have one Jacob who was on the move a lot or do we have two different Jacobs?
