Dear John B Severn,
I was originally read information about the marriage of Charles Severn to Fanny Padley posted by John Severn, then found your info. I have information about the Severns.
My father was Charles Severn (b. 1914) Nottingham
My grandfather was Frederick Severn (b. 1881) Radford Nottingham. His parents were Charles Severn and Tamar Burdin (b. 1836). I don't have his date of birth. They had 3 sons, Arthur, Bill and Fred. As Fred was the last it is possible that Charles was around 40 when he was born which would put his date of birth around 1840. I have found a Charles Severn born 1832, son of Charles Severn (b. 1804) and Ann Motteshaw (b. 1808) but have no proof that they were his parents but the dates seem possible.
John Severn received a response from a JoAnn Padley Hunt. Interestingly enough there is also a Greasley and a Hunt connection in my family. Frederick Severn married Harriet Hunt in 1907. She was the daughter of Eber Hunt and Isabella Ulliet. Harriet was born in 1881 in Greasley. It seems that both the Severn and Hunt families were around in Greasley at that time.
Since you have gathered information on the Severns registered in Greasley I would welcome any information relating to my family as my father recently died on 7 December 2002.
