I am trying to connect my family to the early Severances.
Grandfather-Clayton Thatcher Preble
His mother - Clara Severance Preble
Her father - Thatcher Severance
His father: Ephraim Severance whose wife was Eliza Merriam. Eliza's father was Matthew Thatcher Severance. This series of names makes me beleive that we are connected because of the Thatcher name continuing down the line. So, I am wondering if Ephraim Severance is related to the Severances from NH. I believe that Ephraim's father was Ephraim and his mother named Ruth, possibly maiden name Gould. I cannot prove this and I cannot connect them to the Ephraim Severance that came to Mass, then to NH. I pick up bits and pieces but nothing conclusive. If anyone can help I will be very appreciative.
