Patricia,

Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but I have had some computer problems. Thanks for the information you have provided so far.

No, I don't know of any other Severances. Rhino's and Cornelius' parents were David and Polly (ELKINS) HOWE. Part of the family was born right in Tunbridge, while others were born in Plainfield, New Hampshire. David's parents, Samson and Joanna MCKEE came from Plainfield, Connecticut, apparently by way of Plainfield, NH, into Tunbridge, sometime around 1800.

I don't know of any Townsends or Knights. I have had indications that Lovina's parents were John and Melvina (DUTTON) SEVERANCE, but it is an unsubstatiated claim. I believe there was a John Severance about the same age as Lovina living in Tunbridge, though.

So, I pretty much have nothing on Lovina. (Also, her name lends itself to multiple variations--Lavina, Lovinia, Lovena, etc.) Another researching cousin of mine has tried to get information from Tunbridge records, but was unsuccessful. She and her mother-in-law are 2 of my biggest brick walls!

Judy
