Hi Ed,
I am descended from this Servis family via Joahnnes' daughter, Mary servis, who married Richard Shepard. Has anyone been able to positvely identify Johannes' parents, where in Germany they are from, and if his heirs were his children by his wife Catharina Schenk or Hannah Klug?
I am also interested to know if Mary and Richard Shepard's son-in-law, William Servis, who married Elizabeth Shepard on 21 Jan 1809, was somehow related to his wife. William and Elizabeth Shepard Servis are my 5 great grandparents. William Servis was born 4 Mar 1787 in NJ, Elizabeth was born 28 Jan 1786. The William Servis family moved to Montgomery Co., OH where they died; William on 15 Jun 1864 and Elizabeth on 10 Sept 1856. They are buried in the Old Centerville Cemetery aka Sugarcreek Baptist Cemetery in the greater Dayton, OH area.
Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated.
Joel Hoblet
