I am seeking baptismal information for my GG grandmother, Amada Serrano. She was born about 1841-1845, probably in the Belén, Valencía, Tomé, NM area. She moved with her family (below) from the Rio Abajo area eastward to Puerto de Luna, NM. She gave birth to a daughter at the end of 1872 in Bosque Redondo, NM. This locale neighbors Ft. Sumner. Amada SERRANO was the daughter of: José Miguel Antonio Serrano, b. 24 Apr 1818, probably in Belén or Valencía, New Mexico. He was the son of don Jesús María Serrano, b. 1782, and doña María Candelaria Baca, b. 1789, of Belén, NM. He served as a 1st Sergeant with Hubbell's Company, Perea's Battalion, New Mexico Militia, US Army (Union) during the Civil War. Don Jesús María Serrano was the son of don Francisco Serrano, b.1747, and doña María Guadalupe Aguirre, b. 1751. Don José Miguel Antonio Serrano married doña Juana Nepomucena Lucero, b. Dec 1823 in Valencía, NM, on 21 Nov 1836 in Tomé, NM. She was the daughter of don Juan Antonio Lucero and doña María Andréa Martín. José Miguel Serrano & Nepomucena Lucero had these children: 1.Donaciano de los Reyes, b. Jan 1840. 2.María Beatriz, b. Dec 1844. 3. Amada, b. abt 1841-1844. 4.María Asención ,b. May 1847. 5. José Miguel Serrano & Nepomucena Lucero moved from the Belén, Tomé area to Torreon, NM, in the Manzano mountain range east of Belén. They are there when the 1860 federal census was taken. When the 1870 census was made, they had moved eastward to Puerto de Luna, NM on the Pecos river near Ft. Sumner where their last two daughters were born. Notify Administrator about this message?
