Hi,

I am just starting to do research on my family. My father's name is Marcos David Serna and he has one full blooded brother named Jose Manuel Serna. My grandmother's name was Maria Josefa Zapata and my grandfather's name was Manuel Olivedio (I think that's how you spell it) Serna. From what I know my grandfather was a polygamist and married several women. He fathered about 15 children including my dad and my uncle. He died in Mexico when my father was young (I am guessing sometime in the 60's). They say he died of depression because one of his son's died while playing the russian roulette. I also know that my grandfather's name was originally "de la Serna" but he dropped the "de la" for whatever reason. My grandfather's mother was french and his father spanish. Like I said, I am just starting out so bear with me. So if you have family in Matamoros we might just be related thanks to my grandfather's adventurous ways :)
