That is a heartfelt, personal,localized and detailed ethnic Croaatian immigration story, but unfortunately it has nothing to do specifically with people who were neither Slavs nor from Croatia and who did not travel from the port of Fiume.

Hopefully someone will find/knows of such a detailed account describing the travel from Gajdobra to Bremen of the ethnic German emigrants and will post it here as a reply to the original question that was asked.
