Kathy,
Correct original spelling would most likely be ZELJKOVIC The Z has a diacritical mark over it and sounds like the S in the word treasure... name sounds like zhelkohvich.The Lj is a special character that has the sound like the ll in the word million.
Also Louis would not be found in that region, perhaps it was changed from Aoisija or LazoAnd the correct spelling would be Marko not Marco (C never has the sound of hard K as it does in English)

ZELJKOVIC arr at Ellis Is came from an area of Croatia which is not too far from Bosanka Krupa.
The root of the name is z"ela, meaning wish... the IC ending means son of.
