I will send you an e-mail. Your ancestor has been identified by Rodney Shultz of #198. He said, "Americus Z. Barnett, b. April 7, 1826, died May 7, 1912. Parents were Joseph Moorehead, b. March 18, 1804 and Parmelia Sentell b. April 14, 1805, died Jan 29 1888 in Hendersonville, NC.... Permelia was the daughter of William b. 1756 in Brunswick County, VA died May 7, 1835 in Henderson Co., NC. and Elizabeth Stephens b. 1760."
I believe William's grave was marked by the DAR, but I believe the spelling is not Sentell but maybe Senter. William and Samuel were brothers who married sisters. John Stephens was their father, and I believe fought in the American Revolution also. They were in Edgefield County, SC after the Revolution. William went to Tennessee and Samuel went to Georgia. Apparently, these brothers were very close. I am working on John Stephens to try to locate where he died. He gave my Nancy her dower in Edgefield County, SC and I found the deed signed when they removed to Georgia.
Samuel Sentelle is the authority on William's descendants and has keep records much longer than I have. Hope this is your answer.
