The story about Gilbert Sinsabaugh originated in the Horn Papers, which has been discredited. The info it had from Simeon forward is ok, but Simeon's origins in NY (not from Gilbert) are well-documented. I've never run across a Gilbert Sinsabaugh in my research, outside of the Horn Papers.
