To Ray and Ida - I followed up on Ida's note about Angelina's father. There is a military geneology link on About.com provided through the US Park Service. I found a record for DH Sensibaugh as a private with the 22nd Regiment, Texas Infantry (Hubbard's). The item references a microfilm number for the NPS record. This tallies somewhat with information my Grandfather Wade C Pool gave me. DH Sensibaugh was his maternal grandfather. Wade told me his grandfather was "half-Indian" and he had been born in Tennessee He limped badly from a knee wound taken while fighting in a Texas outfit during the war. Some of the Cherokees moved into east TX during the "Trail of Tears" era. There may be other sources of information about that branch of the family through military pension records or tribal records.
